Course
length: Each course is well structured and sessions
are self-contained. Choose to study a session at a time
or the complete course which takes between three to
five hours.
Prior knowledge: A glossary of medical terms
allows both students and experienced healthcare professionals
to benefit from completing the courses and so
previous knowledge is not essential.

What's
the difference between the Clinical and CBT courses?
The
main difference is in the assessment and mangement approach
used.
The
clinical courses offer mental state examination training
and offer guidance on all forms of treatment. They are
more appropriate for medical students, trainee psychiatrists
and GPs.
The
CBT courses are ideal for busy healthcare professionals
who need practical ways to assess patients in a 5-10
minute session. They are based on materials used to
deliver the SPIRIT
training initiative in Glasgow. The CD-ROMs teach
valuable CBT skills and offer self-help CBT materials
which can be given out to patients.
No
previous experience of CBT is required to use a CBT
training CD-ROM.
